Google Ads management for contractors and home service businesses

Calls from people searching for your service right now

Google Ads puts your business at the top of the results the moment someone searches for what you do. We set it up, run it and tell you every month what it cost and what it brought in.

  • A flat $800 a month. No percentage of your ad spend.
  • You own the ad account. You pay Google directly.
  • Every call and form tracked back to the ad
  • Month to month, and you can remove us from the account at any time

What we do for that

The work that decides whether ads bring jobs or just bring a bill.

An account in your name

We set up the account so you are the owner. We work inside it with manager access that you can remove.

Call and form tracking

Every call and quote request is tied to the ad and the search that produced it.

Landing pages built for the ads

Pages made for the campaign, including a second version so we can test which one brings more calls.

The right searches, and none of the wrong ones

We choose the searches to show for and block the ones that waste money, such as job seekers and do-it-yourself questions.

Only where you work

Your ads show to people in your service area, not to someone three counties away.

Managed every month

We review what people actually searched, what each call cost, and adjust.

What goes wrong with ads, and how we run them

These are the complaints business owners make about ads and the people who manage them.

What goes wrongHow we run it
The agency owned the account, so I lost everything when I left. The account is yours from day one. If you leave, you remove our access and keep the account and all its history.
I could never tell their fee from the ad spend. Our fee is a flat $800 a month, billed by us. The ad spend is charged by Google to your own card, and your report shows it on its own line.
Their fee went up every time I spent more.We do not take a percentage of your spend, so we have no reason to push your budget up.
I paid for clicks from people who were never going to hire me.We check the real search terms every month and block the ones that waste money.
Every ten-second wrong number was counted as a lead.A call only counts once it passes a minimum length, so the report shows real conversations.
They promised a number of leads. We do not guarantee leads or positions. Google itself lists guaranteed placement as a warning sign.
COST PER LEAD

What a lead typically costs on Google search ads

Median cost per lead by trade, from 3,211 US campaigns run April 2024 to March 2025. A guide, not a quote for your area.

  • Roofing and gutters$228
  • Plumbing$129
  • Heating and furnaces$129
  • Air conditioning$128
  • Electricians$94
  • All home services$91

How much should you spend on Google Ads?

It depends on your trade, your city and how much a job is worth to you, so there is no single right number. Two facts help you think about it.

First, how the budget works. You set an average daily budget. On a busy day Google may spend up to twice that, but across a month it will not charge you more than about 30.4 times your daily amount.

Second, a published benchmark. One study of 3,211 home services ad campaigns in the United States found a typical (median) cost of $7.85 a click and $90.92 a lead between April 2024 and March 2025. It comes from one company's managed campaigns, and it varied widely by trade, so treat it as a rough guide and not a quote.

TWO KINDS OF GOOGLE ADS

Search ads and Local Services Ads

Both are included in our management fee.

Search ads

  • You pay each time someone clicks
  • Show beside the normal search results
  • Google weighs your ad quality and landing page, not only your bid

Local Services Ads

  • You pay per lead, not per click
  • Sit at the very top for many home services, with a badge
  • Google checks the business before it can run them

Questions about Google Ads management

Straight answers before you send anything.

Ours is a flat $800 a month, plus a one-time $1,000 setup that covers the account, the tracking and the landing pages. Your ad spend is separate and is paid by you directly to Google.
No. The fee is flat, so it does not change when your budget does.
You do. We set it up in your name and work in it with manager access. You can remove our access at any time and keep the account and its history.
We do not set a hard minimum, but we recommend at least $1,500 a month in ad spend. Ads need enough budget to collect data, so we can learn what works and improve it. Contractor leads usually cost more than leads in lower ticket trades, so contractors should plan to spend more than that. We look at your trade and your area on the call and tell you honestly what a workable budget looks like.
No long contract. It is month to month.
They are when a job is worth clearly more than a lead costs and the phone gets answered. They are not when jobs are small or calls are missed. We go through your numbers before you spend anything.
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee leads or ad positions, and Google names guaranteed placement as a warning sign when choosing a company.
With search ads you pay each time someone clicks. With Local Services Ads you pay per lead, and Google verifies the business first. They can run side by side.
No. Google Ads management is a separate package. Many businesses do both, but you can start with either one.
Yes. It is your account and your budget, so you can pause or change it whenever you need to, for example in your slow season.
Every search runs an instant auction. Google does not simply give the top spot to the highest bidder. It also weighs the quality of your ad, how useful your landing page is and how well the ad matches what the person searched. That matters for your wallet: a relevant ad pointing to a good page can win a spot for less than a careless one. It is why the landing pages and the choice of searches are part of the job, not extras.
Ads can start showing as soon as Google approves them, so calls can come in the first week. That is the big difference from local SEO. The first weeks are also when the campaign is learning. Google says its bidding needs time to learn after it starts and after any change, and that the time depends on how many leads come in. So the first month's numbers are a starting point, not a verdict.
Ads work when the numbers work. Here is an honest test. It is a good fit if You want calls now, not in a few months; One job is worth a lot more than the cost of a lead; Someone answers the phone, or calls back fast; You can commit an ad budget on top of the management fee; You want to test a new service or a new area quickly. It is not for you if Your whole marketing budget is smaller than the management fee; Calls often go unanswered. Paid calls are the worst ones to miss.; Your jobs are small and one-off, so a lead costs more than the job earns; You want a guaranteed number of leads.
They do different jobs. Ads bring calls while you are paying for them, and they stop when you stop. Local SEO builds your place on the map, which takes longer and keeps working. If you need work now and have the budget, start with ads. If you want a steady flow that does not depend on a daily budget, start with local SEO. Many businesses run both: ads for now, the map for later.
